Borrowing terms and conditions

The FCCC toy catalogue and service is available to all agency-affiliated child care providers, and CUPW members. This service is not currently available to the general public.

1

Borrowing period

Toys may be borrowed for a maximum of one month at a time; equipment and resource materials for a maximum of two months for newly approved providers. We have the right to limit the number of toys, equipment and resources borrowed at one time.

2

Registration

All borrowers will complete and sign the borrower’s registration form.

3

Damage and loss

Toys, resource materials and equipment should be returned in as clean and undamaged condition as possible. We expect you to take reasonable care of the toy or piece of equipment borrowed from the resource centre, however like mittens and socks pieces of toys may be lost or broken. We accept this and urge you to do the same. Please contact us when this occurs so that we can work out a solution together.

If a resource material, toy or piece of equipment is lost or broken while borrowed the borrower may be responsible for the cost of repair or for the purchase price of the item (less depreciation).

4

Liability

Family and Child Care Connections will not be responsible for injuries sustained from the use of toys or equipment borrowed from the toy & equipment lending library. The borrower is responsible for inspection of the toy/equipment; supervision of and appropriate use of the toy/equipment; and for reporting any problems and/or broken parts to Family and Child Care Connections.

5

Car Seats

In the event of borrowing a car seat, our staff at Family and Child Care Connections will install the car seat in the car that will be used to transport the child(ren) needing this car seat. Family and Child Care Connections asks that you do not remove the car seat once it has been installed by our staff. In the event, we are unable to install the car seat borrowed, we ask that an individual with expertise in installing car seats appropriately be consulted. Family and Child Care Connections is not responsible for any injuries or inappropriate use of the car seat during the period in which the item is borrowed.
